With head designer Stefano Pilati’s relationship with Yves Saint Laurent bigwigs rumored to be growing ever more tense, it’s always interesting to see what Pilati will turn out when it’s time for a new collection. I was lukewarm on his work for Fall 2011, but Yves Saint Laurent Resort 2012 is a whole different story. Not only were the nautical-chic clothes absolutely lust-worthy, but the bags and shoes, which are most brands’ chief moneymakers, will likely retail very well.
The bag that I’m most excited about is the Yves Saint Laurent Chyc Cabas, which you can see in one of its iterations above. The roomy tote has both functional and aesthetic appeal, and the frayed red straw accented with white leather and gold hardware makes me want to leave my apartment and make friends with someone who owns a boat. This collection will hit stores right around my birthday. Hint hint.

I’ve always had an affinity towards the YSL logo for its typographic beauty (I am a self-taught picture designer). After being in Marrakech, a location where Yves Saint Laurent invested a great deal of time, I was more motivated to own my first Saint Laurent bag. I tried on the YSL Black Chevron WOC (shown below), but I hesitated and decided no, I could not. I then chased it… a lot.Flash ahead a Couple of Weeks, and also a Light Pink Chevron Quilted Grained Leather Metalasse Wallet on Chain Bag pops on the Yoogi’s Closet Latest Arrivals page to get 25% OFF!!! And so, she’s MINE!The Saint Laurent WOC includes a quilted leather chevron style plus a massive silver ‘YSL’ emblem in the center with a string and leather which can be worn across the chest, over the shoulder, or removed to carry it as a clutch. I’ve attempted to take colorful bags before; I’ve even tried grey and brown bags to “try something different”… but nothing seemed to adhere –I’d fall out of love after the first time that I carried it. However, this little pink tote is an exception. This one is different… I am two weeks in with this YSL and I have carried it everyday. Because muscle weakness is one of several symptoms I struggle with because of my Fibromyalgia, I’ve grown to love carrying small crossbody bags which only hold my bare essentials, that is precisely what this bag does.
