We do not really talk much about the Bottega Veneta brand, but when we do, you can be certain that we’re featuring a stunning handbag.
Bottega Veneta just released a new shoulder bag – the Olimpia Bag. I love the name, it’s quite unique, but the design is even more interesting.
You can have it in the classic intrecciato nappa print, but you can also choose one of the impressive embroidered designs.
Like this one, the decoration is called ‘mist’ and it basically represents small flowers in darker shades for the upcoming fall winter seasons. The bag is refined with strong chain strap and a front flap. The interior comes with two compartments and fitted with a zip pocket. Your daily essentials can be structured easily inside and there is plenty of room.
Bottega Veneta leathers are impeccable, the design are elegant, feminine and ideal for casual and for work. The Olimpia Bag comes in three different sizes; the baby size is measured 15 x 22 x 8 (H x W x D) cm and priced at $2030 USD or €1850 euro, the small size is measured 17 x 25 x 7,5 cm (H x W x D) cm and priced at $2470 USD or €2250 euro, the medium measured 30 x 21,5 x 10 (W x H x D) cm and priced at $2800 USD or €2550 euro via Bottega Veneta boutiques.
Though the bag is organised, it is not overly boxy because the soft leather (both French Calf or supple Nappa, depending on your choice) works seamlessly with the design. I can testify to the fact that Bottega Veneta uses some of the best leather in the world, and I have had more than one person touch one of my bags to inform me how great it felt. I know it will wear well over time, not lose it’s shape, but it is also not so ordered it seems bulky. It is the great structural mix, and many brands have difficulty attaining that middle ground, but Bottega Veneta did it.Though you can take the bag only by the top handle, you understand how much I live for an optional crossbody strap. This strap is long enough to wear the Piazza on your shoulder or cross-body, and in a couple of variations of the bag, the shoulder strap is adorned with Bottega Veneta’s signature intrecciato weaving. This makes for a statement piece in and of itself, which can be such a excellent touch. Talking of additional standout attributes, I love the front clasp. I know it seems like a small thing, but it really pulls the bag together and stands outside. Hardware can make or break a bag for me and occasionally be too over the top, but that is never the case with Bottega Veneta. On the Piazza, the dark golden and brunito finish on intrecciato-patterned hardware is simply perfect. It stands out with no distracting, and it is one of those ideal touches that Bottega Veneta does this well.
